Meet the team

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I was born in Taunton and lived in London, Liverpool, but now I’m in Manchester. I live with my partner and two fluffy cats. My hobbies include gaming, reading, and taking long walks around the countryside. I love spending hours watching behind the scenes of my favourite movies, true crime documentaries, and thriller shows.

What do you do at Truepill?

I am a Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer. I strive to help develop quality products before they get to market. My day consists of testing software, writing automated tests, and tracking defects.

What is it like to work in your field?

A career in QA Automation is fantastic if you enjoy technical challenges and like to use your creative skills to solve them. It’s an exciting role that enables you to be involved in all stages of a project. The variability of what you do day-to-day, and working across different teams is what I enjoy the most.

Why did you choose to work at Truepill?

I’ve always had an interest in healthcare, and for me, my greatest motivation is that my work can help someone. Knowing that Truepill uses the latest and most innovative web technologies was my greatest motivation to work here. Working at a new, fast-growing company, I get to experience the advancement of the company over the coming years.

What makes working at Truepill unique?

Making great software requires innovation and great agility. At Truepill, it’s encouraged to put forward ideas and continuously improve — no two days are the same. We have a “no-blame” mentality here, which is amazing and most importantly promotes psychological safety.

What inspires you?

Seeing the end product, whether it be a new website or an improvement to the backend, and knowing that it can positively affect the healthcare sector.

What most surprised you when you started working in healthcare?

How expensive healthcare can be was what surprised me the most. I was pleased to see that Truepill works with Eve to offer more generic and affordable alternatives to traditional birth control — giving the customer the choice of buying the same product for a more reasonable price.

What do you think the future of healthcare holds?

The expansion of virtual healthcare, especially post-pandemic. People are beginning to realise that visiting a general practitioner may not always be required. In the future, cheaper and convenient virtual general practitioner appointments will become more common for their first consultation, along with automating repeat prescriptions.
